Restaurant Gives Away over $1000 in Gas Gift Cards

Crabby Daddy Restaurant owner, Nick Chagouris, motivated to ‘generate a positive spirit in our community’ by helping to alleviate the ‘pain at the pump’

The Woodlands, TX – August 15, 2008 – There was an overall good feeling in the air at Crabby Daddy Restaurant on the night of Friday, August 8, 2008.  Guests were laughing and smiling in anticipation of what the evening would entail – the hope of being the winner of the $1000 Gas Card Giveaway.

With gas prices reaching almost $4.00 a gallon in the month of July, Nick Chagouris, owner of the Crabby Daddy Seafood and Steak House, decided to do something about it.  Chagouris created a contest drawing giving guests a chance to win the coveted grand prize with the motive to ‘counter the negative emotion caused by the abrupt spike in our cost of living because of the pain at the pump.”

The night’s giveway began with two door prize drawings for complimentary meals at the restaurant, and then with customary drum roll, Jeff Hitt of Spring shouted and jumped in excitement when his name was drawn.  Smiling broadly as he accepted his prize, the father of two said, “This will calculate to at least a couple of months of free driving, if not more.”

And, if that wasn’t enough, immediately afterward, the restaurant also awarded waitress, Jewel Cercy, with a $100 gas card for being Hitt’s server the night he filled out his entry card for the contest.  She ran up excitedly, amidst the cheers, to receive her ‘big tip’ giving Chagouris an enthusiastic hug of appreciation.

“It was fun! I was genuinely excited,” said Chagouris, grinning from ear to ear. “It was like watching people's faces at Christmastime when they open their presents. I look forward to doing something like this again soon.”
